This one is specifically for all the husbands out there who are trying to impress their wives with their home cooking skills and are looking for ways to turn boring white rice into something more flavorful and fancy. Another easy recipe which is sure to be liked by all and goes with any curry.

    For cooking rice
  • In a saucepan, add 2.5 cups of water and bring to boil. Now add 1 cup of basmati rice. Boil of 15-17 mins until rice is cooked and drain the extra water. Keep it aside.
  • Steps for Pulao
  • In a pan, add ghee and sliced onions. Let them become golden brown and remove for later use.
  • In the same pan with left over ghee, add cumin seeds and peas. Saute for about 3 minutes
  • Now add salt, sugar, garam masala and turmeric(if adding/optional). cook for another 2 mins.
  • Now you can add the cooked rice to this and gently mix. Mid way, please add the caramelized onions and mix thoroughly.
  • Cook it covered for about 2 mins. Now serve with the curry or Dal of your choice and enjoy!
