Yields: 1 Serving Difficulty: Easy Prep Time: 10 Mins Cook Time: 15 Mins Total Time: 25 Mins

I am always looking for ways to make food from scratch for my kids to avoid unnecessary consumption of preservatives where possible. WIth that, comes another challenge of ensuring your little ones get the joy of enjoying their favorite foods. This easy pasta recipe is my go to whenever my little one refuses to eat certain vegetables (mostly bitter gourd and other bitter veggies). You can always load this recipe with vegetables and chicken to ensure the kids get the nutrients they need. I have made it very simple and quick to help save time! Try it out with your own modifications and let me know how it turns out by tagging @recipesbyappy on social media.

  • First, boil some water in a pan and cook the pasta until it is soft. Drain the water and keep the cooked pasta aside. you can also add salt and some oil while boiling the pasta when making for adults. For this kids recipe, we are going to keep it simple.
  • For Sauce
  • In a pan, add butter and 1 tsp of maida/all purpose flour. Saute for about a minute and then add milk. keep stirring to make sure no clumps are present. You can also strain the sauce to remove any clumps. Cook for a couple of minutes.
  • Once you have reached the desired consistency, add a pinch of nutmeg powder and mix well. Then remove from the flame and keep aside.
  • Creamy Pasta
  • In a pan, add 1/2 tbsp butter and the veggies of your choice. then add salt, italian herbs/oregano, and black pepper powder. Saute until the vegetables are cooked. Tip: add boiled veggies.
  • Once the Veggies are cooked, add the pasta and sauce. Mix well and cook for minute. You can also add cheese in this step or save it for ganish. (I mixed cheese in this step)
  • Now garnish and serve hot with some garlic bread! YUMMMM....
