Seviyan Kheer | Vermicelli Kheer

Kheer is one of the indian desserts made with milk, vermicelli and dry fruits. There are many variations of this delicious dessert but like most of my recipes, I am going to share a quick and simple version of this without complicating the process. Enjoy!

  • In a saucepan, add ghee and roast the vermicelli for about 1-2 minutes
  • Once the vermicelli is slightly roasted, add the sugar and cardamom. We want to slightly caramelize the sugar so that the kheer tastes better
  • Now add the milk and bring it to boil.
  • Now add the nutmeg powder to the milk.
  • Once the milk starts biling, reduce the flame and add 2-3 strands of the saffron. Boil on medium flame for about 15 mins or until the milk thickens a bit.
  • Now add couple drops of rose water, cool it down, garnish with some almonds and serve!
