Crispy Cheese Cigars | Simple and Fancy Appetizer Recipe

These mini cigar shaped wonton rolls filled with cheese are an absolute delight when it comes to party appetizer. These can easily be made in bulk and frozer for later use.

This recipe make about 20 mini cheese cigars. Go on and try it out!

    For the filling
  • In a small bowl, add finely chopped green onions, bell peppers, onion, salt and pepper. mix well.
  • Now add the cheese and mix well.
  • Preparing the cheese cigars
  • Take a wonton wrapper and some water.
  • Generously brush the sides of the wonton wrapper with water and add 1/2 tsp of filling.
  • Roll the wrapper half way through.
  • Press both the sides to ensure the cigars are completely sealed off as when you deep fry, the cheese will melt and doing this will prevent the melted cheese from escaping.
  • Now fold both sides and finish rolling the sheet onto a slim cigar shaped roll.
  • Cover and freeze for about 20 mins before deep frying.
  • Deep fry on a high flame so that the wrappers cook completely and cheese does not burst out.
  • Serve hot with your favorite seasoning. Mine is peri peri seasoning but these rolls go well with sweet chilli sauce as well!
