Sabudana Khichadi | Tapioca Sago Snack

This delicious dish is cooked by cooking tapioca pearls, potatoes, green chillies, cilantro and peanuts. Sabudana is healthy, vegan & gluten-free. This is a classic treat which is mostly enjoyed during navratri time when fasting and tastes best with some plain yoghurt. There are many variations of this dish based on the different regions in India. This particular recipe has a Maharashtrian twist.

  • In a bowl, add soaked sabudana, salt, sugar and cumin powder. Mix well and keep it aside. Tip: Soak it overnight for fluffy and soft sabudana.
  • In a pan, add ghee, green chillies, cumin seeds and boiled potatoes. Saute till they are slightly golden. you can add a pinch of salt to this as well.
  • Now add the sabudana mix, and cook it covered for about 5-7 mins. Mix periodically.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
